Ingredients

  • 1 small banana
  • 7 strawberries
  • 3 tablespoons of 0% bio-yogurt
  • 3 tablespoons of skimmed milk
  • 2 tablespoons of ground almond

Method

  • Cut up your banana and place them into your blender, add all the other ingredients and blend for 2 minutes or until all the almonds have blended.

The Green God Healthy Smoothie

Although this looks like a complicated smoothie, you will soon realise that its probably the best smoothie you have ever tasted.

Ingredients

  • 2 sliced bananas
  • 1 avocado
  • 1 mango
  • 100 grams of spinach
  • 250ml of your proffered milk choice
  • 1 tablespoon of peanut butter or almond butter
  • 1 tablespoon of honey

Ingredients Seed mix

  • 1 tablespoon of chia seeds
  • 1 tablespoon of linseeds
  • 4 tablespoons of pumpkin seeds
  • 4 tablespoon of sunflower seeds
  • 4 tablespoon of coconut flakes
  • 4 tablespoon of flaked almonds
  • ¼ tablespoon of ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons of maple syrup

Method

Step 1

Peel the mango and avocado, remove the stones and chop them into chunks.

Step 2

Peel the bananas and slice them up , place the sliced bananas onto a backing tray lined with non stick oven paper. Place the baking tray in the freezer and freeze for approximately 2 hours or until frozen. These frozen slices will last up to 3 months in your freezer.

Step 3

Preheat your oven to 180c, 160c if it is fan assisted or gas mark 4 if its a gas cooker. Line another baking tray with oven paper.

Using all the seed ingredients tip them into a bowl, and stir until the seeds are well coated with the maple syrup and the cinnamon. once everything is well mixed, scatter evenly on the baking tray and bake for about 15  minutes, or until the seeds are toasted. Remove the seed mix from the oven and let them cool down. If you wish to store this mixture and save for a later date?! You can place these into a Tupperware container and they will be fine for about one month.

Step 4

Place the rest of the main ingredients into your blender and blend until smooth. Scatter one or two tablespoons of the seeds on top of each smoothie and you now have a healthy breakfast.

The Special Berry Smoothie

Ingredients

450g of frozen mixed berry’s
450g of your favourite strawberry yoghurt
100ml of your preferred milk choice
25g of porridge oats
2 tablespoons of honey or maple syrup (optional)

Method

Place your mixed frozen berries and your oats in to your blender and blend until the mixture is smooth. Pour your smoothies into 4 smoothie glasses and serve, for added sweetness and a drizzle of your honey or maple syrup to the mixture.

Avocado and Banana Smoothie
